Role Summary: 


This position is responsible for assisting in the ongoing monitoring of the Bank's loan portfolio to ensure alignment with long term credit quality standard goals.


specific job functions (Duties/Responsibilities):


  • Prepares written financial statement/tax return analysis for new and existing loan relationships along with presentation of work product to the Loan Review Committee of the Board of Directors.
  • Assists in monitoring the loan grading system, making necessary changes when needed.
  • Assesses and monitors the quality of the loan portfolio.
  • Assesses and monitors loan portfolio compliance with both Bank policy and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Assists the Manager of Loan Review in developing and implementing loan policy.
  • Assists Loan Review in the assessment of Bank loan officers with feedback on reviewed loans and other performance measures.
  • Reviews impairment analysis for use with the Allowance for Loan and Lease Losses Model.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to handle sensitive information while maintaining customer confidentiality.
  • Working knowledge of Bank lending processes and loan documentation.
  • Through knowledge of Bank lending policies and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and work area.



Education/Experience requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree in business/accounting preferred or equivalent Bank credit review experience.
  • Five years or more of previous community banking and lending experience preferred.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Capable user of Southern Bank computer systems and technology, including word-processing, spreadsheets, internet and internal software.
