The Plant Controller will be the primary financial business partner, member of leadership team and primary liaison between corporate and US accounting and reporting. This role will be responsible for the oversight of all finance and accounting related activities and reporting for Cellectis US. The focus of this role is to provide financial expertise, guidance, and operational services while focusing on the analysis of manufacturing operations and business product lines in order to optimize financial performance, support company strategy and to remain competitive.


The Plant Controller will be responsible for maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records and a comprehensive set of internal controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance accuracy of the company's reported financial results, and ensure IFRS, US GAAP and SOX compliance and reporting. This role will build and manage an accounting staff to support the growth of company operations.



NOTE: Candidates MUST have Pharma/Biotech experience.


  • Directs US operations accounting functions/structure and assures compliance with corporate accounting policies, US GAAP and IFRS.
  • Establishes, manages and enforces financial policies, procedures, controls, and reporting systems. Including order to pay, tax, and payroll functions.
  • Manages plant accounting, including monthly, quarterly and annual closing processes.
  • Responsible for leading the US operations annual operating budget process. Collaborates and engages with leadership team throughout budget process.
  • Analyzes financial reports and evaluates US operations performance and spending.
  • Advises leadership and key stakeholders on accounting, financial, budgeting, asset management, forecasting, capital expenditures/projects, and profit improvement opportunities.
  • Assists with optimized inventory management and analyzes fixed asset purchase justifications.
  • Ensures integrity and accurate valuation of plant assets, including inventory, property and equipment.
  • Implements and manages internal/external audits and observation processes. Interfaces with internal and external auditors as needed.
  • Develops and maintains standard cost systems and establishes performance measures.
  • Responsible for compliance of local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of accounting software and supporting database, as needed.
  • Manages finance staff including hiring, team building, coaching, and appraising job results.

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance. CPA preferred
  • 8 15 experience years' controlling and in-depth analysis experience and hands on supervisory experience.
  • Manufacturing environment experience specifically related to Standard Costing/Variance Analysis
  • Possess knowledge of all aspects of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
  • Knowledge of SEC regulations
  • Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) financial reporting
  • Strong collaboration and ability to establish relationships, build rapport with all stakeholders, and influence at all levels of management through informed discussions and presentations.
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines handling multiple, detail-oriented projects.
  • Strong analytical aptitude, negotiating skills and excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong working knowledge of accounting management software. SAP Business ByDesign is a plus
  • Advanced proficiency with MS Office. Overall advanced technical skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communications and presentation skills.
  • Pharmaceutical and/or Biotech industry experience!
