The Facilities Engineer will support and coordination of internal and external maintenance programs to support manufacturing and facility building operations, utilities and equipment.  This  Person will manage HVAC and facilities' controls & engineering.  As the Engineer your primarily responsibilities are to ensure continues safe operation of the building's HVAC-R and mechanical systems. The individual will perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and repair on various refrigeration equipment. The ideal candidate will monitor equipment and operations utilizing a Building Automation System (BAS) and Environmental Management System (EMS). He/ She should be knowledgeable of cGMP, cGLP and Clean room activities. This hands-on person will possess a strong work ethic, the desire to work in a collaborative team along with a passion for creative thinking and problem solving.




  • Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all aspects of facilities' maintenance requirements and laboratory equipment including facilities controls and HVAC
  • Perform and assist with HVAC-R maintenance activities to minimize disruption to manufacturing or laboratory operations
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC balancing, mechanical and electrical systems, extensive experience in troubleshooting air flow and differential pressure
  • Support and maintain equipment spare parts for HVAC and related refrigeration equipment
  • Perform and assist contractors for routine and non-routine maintenance on HVAC-R equipment for the Non-GMP and GMP areas
  • Computerized Maintenance Management Systems CMMS) to track, record and manage work orders
  • Contribute to development of Erytech's Good Engineering Practices
  • Contribution to Facilities' responsible SOPs and documentation
  • Contribution to preventative maintenance program for facility annual maintenance
  • Coordination and supervision of services given by providers and suppliers
  • Other duties as required




  • Bachlor's/AA degree in engineering
  • Minimum 5 years' experience working in HVAC-R and knowledge of mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and control systems in a pharmaceutical/biotech environment
  • EPA Universal Certification
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience with Building Automation Systems (BAS) and Environmental monitoring Systems (EMS)
  • Able to effectively manage multiple competing priorities to delivery results in a timely manner
  • Building maintenance and systems (Boilers, HVAC, Fire, Electrical)
  • Strong understanding of computer skills, including Microsoft business applications and various reporting software
  • Worked or oversaw contractors performing services in the facility
  • Flexibility on work schedules and duties
  • Proficient with hand and power tools
  • Coordination and movement of equipment for site with other teams
  • Must be able read and write English
  • Ability to read and understand blue prints
  • PLC experience
  • Understanding of  health & safety practices; SOPs and GMP procedures is a must
  • Experience with PAIs and regulatory authority audits for QC, Manufacturing, and Facilities equipment and systems is a plus
  • Commissioning and Calibrations experience is a plus
  • Experienced with regulatory agencies requirements i.e. (FDA, OSHA, ADA, EPA)
  • Inspect EH&S / Life Safety Equipment; Back-up Power (Diesel Generator), Uninterruptable Power Supply (UPS), Fire Extinguishers and Fire Alarm Panel / Sprinklers
  • CPR / AED / First Aid Certification preferred
  • Physical Requirements: stand for prolong periods of time, lift to 80lbs, noisy work environment
